Hi All, I was given the opportunity to use the Fuji HS50EXR And what a great camera this turned out to be. Launched in 2013 it still holds a price of approx £350-00 Which i thought was good value for money. I tried the HS50 against my Samsung GX10 . The first thing I noticed was just how light it was compared to my Samsung with a Sigma 135-400mm lens fitted, I have to use the Samsung/Sigma combination on a tripod but even using the HS50 at 1000mm the picture quality was very good with it's 1/2 inch EXR CMOS II Censor. focal range covers 24-1000, with the addition of 1.4 or 2x Digital zoom via the Menu. Video quality was also very good with full 1080p hd video supported. The HS50EXR has a High resolution tilting LCD Screen which coped extremely well even in bright sunlight. I found the controls to be very easy to use, albeit I had to ask a colleague a couple of questions about the HS50EXR as i didn't have a user guide to refer to. here are some images from the HS50EXR and the SAMSUNG, I will state which are from each Camera.
all the images above were taken on the Fuji HS50EXR.
All of the above images were taken with my Samsung GX10.
All in all, i enjoyed using the Fuji HS50EXR, for a Bridge camera its extremely versatile with a lot of bells and whistles that my Samsung doesn't have, it certainly packs a pig punch for it's weight, which is 808g inc battery, which is only 50 g heavier than the Samsung GX body without the lens.
I hope you find this useful. Thanks
Trev.
